Bento is hiring an engineer join our early engineering team! As a small team, this is a critical and high impact role in a fast moving environment. We ship daily, and are onboarding new customers weekly. While we are looking for a full stack role, we’re open to candidates who lean back-end especially as it comes to infrastructure, scaling and performance.

👋 This role
- Build new product features across the stack, from back-end business logic implementation and scaling to full stack features.
- Design thoughtful and practical architecture and data modeling for new features.
- Improve the performance and reliability of existing features, such as through optimizing queries, refactoring, or introducing new tools.
- Recognize pain points in our development workflow and appropriately build internal tools to support developer efficiency and application robustness.
- This role is remote, and open to anyone working within PST-EST timezones.
As part of an early stage team, you'll sometimes wear multiple hats including working with our customers. We think the best team members view this as fun and an opportunity for impact.
📝 Skills & cultural fit
Full stack and familiar with early stage startup life
- 4-8 years of engineering experience, with a significant experience in backend development, infrastructure and DevOps.
- Really helpful if you've worked at a B2B software company, or otherwise have experience building software at a fast growing startup.
- Bonus points for familiarity and interest in working on scaling problems related to infrastructure and performance optimization.
- Current stack: Postgres, Node.js, Typescript, GraphQL, React. Infrastructure on AWS.

- You have the ability to design and architect new features and data modeling in a thoughtful and practical way.
